I am an ordinary foreign trade salesperson specializing in rubber waterstop. There are countless stories to share from my experiences in the foreign trade business! Allow me to recount a particularly interesting encounter with a discerning customer.
Once, our company received an order from abroad, and the client turned out to be exceptionally particular. From product color to packaging, every detail was subject to stringent scrutiny. At that moment, I thought to myself, this will not be easy!
I recall one instance when we sent him a batch of samples, fully expecting them to pass his evaluation. However, within just a few days, I received an extensive feedback email filled with various inquiries. One notable concern was that the product label was misaligned! I was taken aback; such meticulousness was unexpected. Consequently, I promptly contacted the factory and requested they recheck and adjust accordingly.
In my efforts to satisfy this customer, I communicated with him daily and provided updates at every opportunity. One night around 11 PM, as I prepared for bed, he sent me a message outlining yet another new request. Despite feeling exhausted, I mustered the energy to respond thoughtfully and explain how we would address his concerns.
After considerable effort on our part, the product was finally produced. Throughout the shipping process, I monitored each step closely out of fear that something might go awry. When the customer received the goods initially without any response from him left me anxious; however, several days later he emailed me expressing his satisfaction with both the products and our service! In that moment of joyfulness—my happiness soared as if I could almost fly!
Since then, this customer has become our long-term partner and comes to us first every time he has a new order. I also learned from it that as long as you serve your customers with your heart, even the pickiest customers can be taken care of! This is a small story in the foreign trade business, but it impressed me deeply and made me love this job even more. After all, being able to serve customers well is a great feeling of accomplishment!
